Abstract:
The 9th edition of NanoSpain Conference - the event held every year in Spain will take place in 2012 from the 27th of February to 1st of March in Santander at the City Convention Centre.
Consolidated as a reference meeting of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology in Spain, the conference NanoSpain 2012 is not limited to a conventional presentation of ideas or results, but seeks to deepen the common themes among the participants, also serving as a link between industry and researchers.
Since 2004, year the event was launched, NanoSpain conference series is now an established and well-known meeting in Spain, aiming to agglutinate and coordinate the efforts made in the field of the Nanotechnology by Spanish groups from universities, research institutes and companies. Moreover, since 2008, Spain, Portugal and France (through their respective networks NanoSpain, PortugalNano and C'Nano GSO) decided to join efforts in order that NanoSpain events facilitate the dissemination of knowledge and promote interdisciplinary discussions not only in Spain but among the different groups from Southern Europe.
The organizers announce the call for abstracts until January 23, 2012 and the deadline for early bird registration fee as February 10, 2012.
To organize the various sessions and to select contributions, the meeting will be structured in the following thematic sessions, but interactions among them will be promoted:
1. Graphene
2. NanoBiotechnology
3. Nanoelectronics, NEMS and Nanofabrication
4. Industrial
5. NanoChemistry
6. NanoOptics & NanoPhotonics
7. NanoToxicology
Over the past years, NanoSpain conference became more and more multidisciplinary and 2012 won't be an exception. In order to enhance and boost the 9th edition of NanoSpain, two new sessions were added, Graphene and Nanotoxicology, greatly discussed these days.
Full list of speakers will be announced in the upcoming weeks. Henry Everitt (Duke University, USA), Quentin Pankhurst (The Royal Institution of Great Britain, UK) and Stephan Roche (ICN, Spain) are some of the invited speakers that will be present at NanoSpain 2012.
