Abstract:
The Nano Science & Technology Institute (NSTI) announces Cleantech 2007, a multi-disciplinary and multi-sector conference on global sustainability and clean technologies, will collocate with the Nanotech 2007 conference and tradeshow. Cleantech will be held May 23-24, 2007, while Nanotech 2007 will begin May 20 and run through May 24th.
"With so much attention from scientists and policymakers now focused in California on the convergence between nanotechnology and cleantech, the timing is right for NSTI to embrace expansion and broaden our focus. We want to bring these exciting new areas of opportunity to our community," said Matthew Laudon, Executive Director of NSTI.
"Clean and sustainable technologies reflect the ability for innovators to bring together new perspectives and new technologies to improve today's products and manufacturing processes. Cleantech wants to showcase these leading-edge products, as well as the innovators and their mindsets."
Cleantech 2007 is now open for potential speakers to submit topics and session recommendations. Speaking proposals should address: emerging technologies, clean business practices, funding or licensing. Cleantech 2007's selection committee is looking to feature speakers from a growing set of technologies, products or services aimed at improving performance, productivity or efficiency while reducing energy and operating costs, as well as waste or pollution.
Cleantech 2007 focuses on the impact from clean and sustainable technologies and processes on traditional industries, including Agriculture; Automotive; Building; Chemical; Coal; Food Production; Manufacturing; Nuclear; Oil & Gas; Paper; Semiconductor; and Transportation.
The following clean technology and sustainable industry topics will be highlighted for Cleantech 2007:
* BioEnergy: Bio Energy: Biodiesel; Biofuels; Bio Biomass
* Non-Bio Renewable Energy: Geothermal; Hydro; Photovoltaics; Solar Thermal; Wave; and Wind
* Clean Technologies: Clean Burning Fuels; Electric Vehicles; Fuel Cells; Hybrid Electric; Hydrogen; Zero Emissions; Pollution Reduction
* Business & Policy: Licensing and IP; Early Stage Investment; Public Sector Investment; Government Funding Initiatives; Government and Industrial Policies; Global and Regional Initiatives
