Schneider to review futuristic capabilities of performance apparel
NanoHorizons™ today announced that
Dennis
Schneider, Director of Marketing and Sales, will present “Nanotechnology:
A Key to Futuristic Capabilities in Performance Wear” at Fiber
Technology 2006,
on October 10th in Charlotte, North Carolina. In its inaugural year, Fiber
Technology 2006 will focus on fibers for innovative applications in
medical,
fitness and performance-wear markets.
The conference and exhibition provides a forum in which attendees can
exchange
ideas, learn about the latest technological advances, and network with
other
leading members of the fiber and fabric industry. The focused event will
draw
a qualified group of attendees, including fiber suppliers, fabricators,
and users.
Schneider’s presentation, “Nanotechnology: A Key to Futuristic Capabilities
in Performance Wear” will address the significant technological
advancements
that nanotechnology has made possible, and specifically focus on how
antimicrobial properties can be added to performance wear.
Earlier this year, Schneider’s company, NanoHorizons, launched its line of
nanoscale-engineered SmartSilver™ permanent anti-odor/antimicrobial
additives,
offering a safe and cost-effective method to enhance fibers and fabrics.
SmartSilver-modified fibers can be used to create odor- and
microbe-resistant
fabrics for use in a wide range of consumer and industrial applications,
including
shoe linings, T-shirts, thermal wear, socks, gloves, carpets, bedding,
and uniforms.
NanoHorizons will be exhibiting at Fiber Technology, October 10-11.
The event’s co-sponsors, the International Fiber Journal (IFJ) and
Industrial
Textile Associates focused the event on the medical, fitness, and
performance-wear markets, based on these markets’ historic tendency to
be early
adopters of new ideas and technology that ultimately penetrate other
markets.
