Home > Press > TCL Unveils First 65” TV Featuring QD Vision’s Color IQ™ Quantum Dot Technology: Emerging industry leader introduces expanded quantum dot TV lineup
Abstract:
Rapidly rising industry leader TCL has expanded its Color IQ™-based product family with the introduction of its Q65H9700 65’’ 4K UHD Quantum Dot TV. This is the second Color IQ™-based TV launched by TCL, following the successful launch of its 55” H9700 model last December. Both products feature best-in-class color performance enabled by QD Vision’s Color IQ optics.
TCL continues to gain industry momentum on the basis of its unique combination of innovation and value. In the first quarter of 2015, TCL grew its share to become the third largest LCD TV brand in the world, according to a recent report from WitsView. TCL was the largest Chinese brand in the period.
Color IQ technology from QD Vision is the most energy-efficient and lowest-cost quantum dot solution available, enabling manufacturers to offer TVs with premium color at LCD TV prices. According to TCL, Color IQ optics enable the TCL quantum dot TVs to achieve 110% of full-gamut NTSC color performance, compared with 60-70% NTSC found in most mainstream LCD TV designs.
“Color IQ quantum dot technology enables stunning color performance,” said E. Hao, CEO of TCL Multimedia, the world’s third best-selling television brand. “Consumers can see the quantum dot difference, and we’re proud to lead the market by offering multiple models featuring this innovative technology.”
“TCL’s market success is a reflection of their desire to lead the industry, and QD Vision is proud to be a part of that success,” said Matt Mazzuchi, Vice President, Market and Business Development, QD Vision. “Today’s announcement is further proof that Color IQ technology is the quantum dot solution of choice for TV manufacturers and consumers alike.”
The new TCL 65” quantum dot TV, Model Q65H9700, is a Smart UHD TV with premium Harman Kardon sound system and a sleek, minimalist design. It is available now in retail stores in China.
