SouthWest NanoTechnologies CEO Dave Arthur to Discuss “Carbon Nanotubes and Automotive Applications” at The Automotive Composites Conference and Expo 2014 (ACCE2014)

Norman, OK | Posted on August 28th, 2014

SouthWest NanoTechnologies (SWeNT) is a leading manufacturer of single-wall, few-wall and multi-wall carbon nanotube materials for composite, printed electronics, and energy storage applications.

Arthur will discuss three automotive applications that are currently the focus of SWeNT's commercialization efforts: 1) printable, thermo-formable, transparent-capacitive touch sensors for replacing membrane switches in automotive interiors; 2) super capacitors with enhanced low-temperature performance and higher power density; 3) polymer composites with enhanced electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity and mechanical properties.

"Many of the traditional materials used in automobile technologies, inside and out, can be enhanced using SWeNT carbon nanotubes," Arthur explained. "We have recently signed a number of development agreements with composite manufacturers, and are aggressively pursuing ways to maximize composite-component performance in vehicles using CNTs."

ACCE is the world's leading automotive composites forum, sponsored by the Society of Plastics Engineers Automotive and Composites Division. The event is designed to educate automotive design and production engineers, sales personnel, and management from transportation OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers about the benefits, and growing importance, of thermoset and thermoplastic composites in passenger vehicles, light trucks, and other ground transportation applications.

Details about Mr. Arthur's presentation:
