Abstract:
QD Vision, Inc. and ShineOn Holding, Inc. today announced at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) a new partnership to provide integrated LED and Color IQTM optical components that optimize total system performance in TV and monitor designs. This collaboration further facilitates the integration of QD Vision's Color IQ optical components into customers' existing LCD supply chains and makes the transition to full-gamut color even easier for the LCD manufacturer. The collaboration significantly reduces engineering design and color-tuning timelines, enabling rapid development of full-gamut displays.

QD Vision and ShineOn Announce Collaboration to Accelerate Integration of Color IQTM Optics into LCD Applications: First ‘plug-n’-play’, full-gamut color optical solution speeds time-to-market

Las Vegas, NV | Posted on January 9th, 2014

"ShineOn's deep optoelectronics expertise further enables the industry's shift to full-gamut displays," said QD Vision CEO Jason Carlson. "Combined with QD Vision's Color IQ optics, this partnership delivers the only plug-and-play, full-gamut solution available to LCD panel manufacturers today."

The QD Vision and ShineOn partnership offers a flexible model to integrate Color IQ into any display production specification and assembly operation. ShineOn's blue LED light bars and light recycling system, and QD Vision's Color IQ components can be sourced individually or as a subassembly, providing a custom, high-performance solution.

"We are committed to delivering the best, cutting-edge LED products for displays and lighting," said Frank Fan, President of ShineOn. "By collaborating with QD Vision, we can offer a differentiated, full-gamut solution that can be customized to meet increasingly demanding display performance targets."

The partnership with ShineOn closely follows the release of QD Vision's new Quantum Dot Display Development Package (announced in December 2013), further demonstrating the company's commitment to helping its customers and the broader display industry to quickly transition to full-gamut products that achieve optimal color performance. The Development Package, which is complimentary to all QD Vision customers and partners, includes Color Point Reference Standards (Color IQ optics), Application Notes, Optical Modeling Services, Customer Data Worksheets and Technical Support.
