Home > Press > QD Vision Delivers Next-Generation Three-Millimeter LCD Display Optic: Full Gamut 100% NTSC color optic enables the thinnest, most cost-effective display designs
Abstract:
QD Vision, Inc. today announced the newest family of its award-winning Color IQ™ optical component compatible with LCD systems utilizing 3mm light guide plates. The new optic represents a 25% width reduction from QD Vision's previous offerings, making it the thinnest and most cost-effective quantum dot, Full Gamut 100% NTSC color LCD solution available today.
With QD Vision's new 3mm components, large LCD TV and Backlight manufacturers can incorporate Color IQ optics into 2014 BLU designs, migrating to thinner LGPs while maintaining the 100% NTSC color gamut offered by Color IQ optics. In addition, QD Vision's world-class engineering staff and in-house manufacturing capability can customize product performance parameters, such as gamut type and white point, to meet specific customer display requirements and reduce time-to-market.
"Industry trends toward immersive viewing experiences and super-thin LCD TV styling have noticeably impacted display designs," said Jason Carlson, President and CEO of QD Vision. "We continue to advance our technology to help our customers improve their own design features. Collectively we strive not only to meet industry trends, but also to influence them, in particular the home viewing experience and the end consumer's desire for Full Gamut color quality in thinner, more affordable consumer electronics."
Consumers can experience Full Gamut color for themselves by checking out select Sony BRAVIA TV models at major electronics retailers.
