Abstract:
The Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council and the National Carpet Center signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 'Applications of Nanotechnology Achievements in Iranian Handmade Carpet Industry and Art'.
The MoU is valid for five years and it was signed between Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council and Iran's National Carpet Center, with the aim of improving the capacities of the Iranian handmade carpet in line with the scientific and research progresses in the country in the field of nanotechnology, and pursuant to obtain the objectives of the strategic document of Iran's National Carpet Center in the application of novel technologies in the development of handmade carpet industry-art.
In this 9-article MoU, a few cooperation fields have been defined between Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council and Iran's National Carpet Center, including the creation of anti stain and waterproof properties, making the carpet anti-fire, and improving the color of the thread used in the handmade carpet.
Based on the MoU signed in November 2012, Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council will provide financial support in cooperation with Iran's National Carpet Center for the industrial projects that use nanotechnology in the improvement of the quality and functionality of the handmade carpet. Evaluation, supervision, and provision of support for joint research projects and theses in higher levels of education at MSc and PhD levels and the creation of knowledge-based technological cores in order to present scientific and technical services for the commercialization of nanotechnology researches in the field of handmade carpet are among the issues that will be carried out by the support of Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council according to MoU.
