Abstract:
The Research Institute for Food Science and Technology of Iran in association with ISEKI-Food Association is due to hold an International Educational Workshop on Nanotechnology Applications in Food Chain from November 10 to 11, 2012.
The objective of the educational workshop due to be held at the venue of the Research Institute is to extend the international scientific cooperation and to provide an atmosphere for idea exchange between the domestic and international researchers on nanotechnology applications in food industry.
The scopes of the workshop and the names of the professors and teachers in each of the scopes have been listed hereafter:
o Application of Nanotechnology in Food Issues, Prof. Saverio Mannino, a member of the Scientific Board of the University of Milan;
o Micro and Nanostructures in Microencapsulation of Food Ingredients, Prof. Tan Chin Ping, a member of the Scientific Board of Putra University, Malaysia;
o Nanotechnology for Sensors and Biosensors, Prof. Matteo Scapicchio, a member of the Scientific Board of Putra University, Malaysia;
o Application of Nanotechnology in Packing and Labeling, Prof. Saverio Mannino, a member of the Scientific Board of the University of Milan;
o Nanomaterials Safety and Health, Prof. Nasser Shah Tahmasebi, a member of the Scientific Board of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad;
o Feasibility Study of the Application of Nanotechnology in Saffron Processing, Dr. Rasoul Kadkhodayee, the head of the Research Institute for Food Science and Technology.
The university students who are interested in participating in the workshop are required to register until October 21, 2012. University students and IFA members will receive special discount during the registration process. In addition, participants will receive attending certificate from the Research Institute for Food Science and Technology.
