Abstract:
Printed electronics is a special topic at drupa 2012, the world's leading trade
show for the printing industry, in Düsseldorf. The OE-A (Organic and Printed
Electronics Association) is partnering with the conference „Future of Print:
Printed Electronics" on May 12, 2012 and the special show "Printed
Electronics" in hall 7.0. drupa will take place from May 03 to 16, 2012 in
Düsseldorf, Germany.
Organic and printed electronics enables new
applications and opens up new perspectives for the established printing and packaging
industry. "As the world's leading trade show for the printing industry, drupa is an
extremely important marketplace that enables us to inform the printing industry about
these revolutionary technologies," says Dr. Stephan Kirchmeyer, Chairman of the
OE-A Board of Directors and Head of the Business Unit Functional Coatings at
Heraeus Precious Metals GmbH & Co. KG.
OE-A Conference on May 12th
The conference "Future of Print I: Printed Electronics" is organized by the OE-A and
will be held on the morning of May 12th at the drupa cube in hall 7.A. The focus of the
presentations is on actual applications and products enabled by this new technology.
The high-level conference program includes presentations by Heraeus, Holst Centre,
PolyIC, Plastic Logic, Printechnologics and VTT, featuring topics such as touch
screens, organic photovoltaics, OLEDs, intelligent packaging, sensors, medical
applications, e-readers and crossmedia applications.
OE-A at drupa innovation parc
The OE-A is also collaborating with the special show "Printed Electronics" at drupa
innovation parc in hall 7.0. The OE-A will be presenting a number of applications at
drupa which have resulted from collaboration among its international member
companies: from interactive books and intelligent packaging to sensors, displays and
flexible solar cells.
Visitors to the OE-A booth will receive a comprehensive industry guide on printed
electronics, including the OE-A roadmap and a credit-card sized, energy self-sufficient
flashlight that includes a printed solar cell, a printed circuit board and a flexible battery.
The OE-A booth is in hall 7.0/E20.

About OE-A (Organic and Printed Electronics Association)
The OE-A (Organic and Printed Electronics Association) was founded in December 2004 and is the leading
international industry association for organic and printed electronics. Our members are world-class global
companies and institutions, ranging from R&D institutes, component and material suppliers to producers and
end-users and represent the entire value chain of this emerging industry. More than 190 companies from Europe,
North America, Asia and Australia are working together to promote the establishment of a competitive production
infrastructure for organic and printed electronics. The vision of the OE-A is to build a bridge between science,
technology and application. The OE-A is a working group within the German Engineering Federation (VDMA).
More than 3,000 member companies from the engineering industry make VDMA the largest industry association in Europe.
The OE-A and Messe Munich International are the hosts of the premier international conference and exhibition,
LOPE-C 2012, to be held June 19-21, 2012 at ICM, New Messe Munich Trade Fair Center, Germany.
