"Project Flake" concept car leaves competition in the dust
Abstract:
Inspired by Pixar's animated movie Cars, a freelance designer based in Britain, Da Feng, has come up with an innovative concept car, called Project Flake.
On his blog, the automative designer and "futurist" said he loved "the movement of the characters, and how they leaned into the corners", and wanted to translate that into a realistic vehicle.
Feng's vehicle started nearly three years ago as his final project at Britain's Conventry University.
The designer even spoke to an ex-Williams Formula 1 engineer who said the design and execution is sound.
According to Autoblog.com, what you see is 250 active body panels controlled by mini solenoids pulling on carbon nano-tube wires.
