Advanced Nano Products takes off on rising nanotechnology demand
Abstract:
Park Chang-woo, the CEO of Advanced Nano Products, did not start out as an entrepreneur. He was just a college professor who wanted to find jobs for his students in the aftermath of the Asian financial crisis.
"Eventually, I thought to myself: I have the technology, so why not start a company myself and provide the jobs the students need?"
In February 2000, Advanced Nano Products opened shop in the Buyong industrial district, Cheongwon, in North Chungcheong and has since become a leading maker of nano-materials used in LCD screens, solar batteries and touchscreens. The company exports 90 percent of its products and its customers include global corporations such as 3M.
