2009 Tokyo: Mazda Debuts Efficient SKY Gasoline and Diesel Engines

Abstract:
The SKY-G works in conjunction with a new single nano-catalyst (currently used in the new Mazda3) that reduces the amount of precious metals needed for exhaust gas purification. Mazda estimates that the new nano-catalyst technology has dropped precious metal content by 70% in the 2010 Mazda3 versus the previous-generation car, reducing production costs and unit weight.
