Abstract:

Energenics Pte Ltd, the nanocatalyst fuel additive specialists, today announces an update on the progress of its cleaner burning ethanol diesel blended fuel marketed as "EnerDiesel -- Powered by O2" in the Indian, South East Asia and Asia Pacific regions. In this territory, Energenics has experienced increased interest and rapidly expanding demand over the last 3 months mainly due to immense efforts by the various stakeholders in improving the regulatory path to market. Energenics' lead customer, Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC ), who initiated the first Enerdiesel buses in Asia Pacific, have continued to use the product with great results and are now looking to convert most of their fleet before end of Q1 2009.
In addition, Energenics has agreed with 2 major bus customers in the state of Maharastra, a 1 month trial period prior to commencing conversion of their bus depots to Enerdiesel. These 2 customers match KSRTC in terms of vehicles and fuel usage at approximately 450 million liters per year. Energenics are also in advanced negotiations with several other similar fleets in the Asia Pacific territory who are seeking to convert their vehicles to Enerdiesel.
To support increased volumes of product supplied to customers, US$400,000 of additive components have been ordered from O2Diesel (OTOD.BB) for delivery between now & March 2009. Final formulation of the product is handled by Energenics in their Singapore blending plant prior to shipment to their customers.
Ronen Hazarika, Managing Director of Energenics, commented, "Since the inception of the first EnerDiesel buses in India, we have invested heavily in developing and installing the infrastructure in India to support a rollout. The positive response on the regulatory front is encouraging and we look forward to converting the bulk of the Karnataka fleet by March 2009. We are also encouraged by the new fleets that have decided to adopt EnerDiesel as a means to reduce fossil fuel usage, replace part of their foreign fuel supplies with a home grown fuel and also reduce emissions drastically without loss of fuel efficiency. We are estimating that we will have a very busy 2009 servicing existing customers and dealing with new ones."
As a result of the increased activity and the recruitment of new employees , Energenics has recently relocated to much larger office premises in Singapore Science Park, where it will oversee it's Asia Pacific & European operations.
