Abstract:
Nanotechnology Firm Reaches Out to Colleges Across The Country To Encourage Students to "Save Energy! Save the World!" This Holiday Season with dotstrand™ Energy-Efficient LED Lights
-As the winter Holidays approach, thousands of students are faced with a decorating dilemma. Many dorms ban traditional strands of Holiday lights as they use too much electricity, and also often get too hot, raising safety concerns. What's an energy-conscious student to do who wants to bring a bit of Holiday spirit into his or her dorm room?
Enter dotstrandTM Energy Efficient lights to the rescue. From Evident Technologies, dotstrand™ holiday LED lights, www.dotstrand.com, use a fraction of the power of traditional holiday lights, are cool to the touch, long lasting and durable. In addition, dotstrand holiday LED lights incorporate nanotechnology, a new and high-tech application that allows the lights to produce almost any color. Energy efficient, durable and colorful, they are perfect for college dorm rooms, apartments, fraternity houses and sorority houses. These holiday lights can also be used outdoors. dotstrandTM energy efficient LED lights are available in unique colors including pink, peach, aqua, lime, plum, ice white, and pearl white.
To encourage college students to go ‘green' and use dotstrands in their holiday and campus decorating, dotstrand has launched "Save Energy, Save The World" on Facebook - www.dotstrand.com/facebook - where students can learn more about dotstrands, and upload photos of their dotstrand-decorated dorm rooms to win prizes, including an iPod touch, gift cards and more.
"Students love the dotstrands and we see them becoming very popular not only for holiday lighting, but for year round dorm room decoration," said Tracy Shust, Buying Manager at The College Bookstore, Inc. "The unique colors and packaging are also very appealing for the bookstore. They make great in-store displays."
"These energy saving dotstrands light up my room and give it some style," said Sheila Tillman of Russell Sage College. "I love these lights."
"We're excited that our dotstrand LEDs are getting such an enthusiastic reaction from college students nationwide," said Clinton Ballinger, CEO, Evident Technologies. "Although I believe many are attracted simply by how cool dotstrands look, there's a lot of energy-saving sophisticated nanotechnology packed inside, which appeals to anyone who is looking for new ways to go green."
Dotstrand Energy Efficient LED Lights have been selected as members for the Independent College Bookstore Association 2008-2009 Vendor Program and are also members of the National Association of College Stores. Dotstrands are available now at college retailers nationwide, including the University of Southern California; University of California, Santa Barbara; Spartan Bookstore, San Jose State University; University of Colorado at Colorado Springs; Kutztown University, PA; and Williams College, MA.
