Abstract:
Finetex Technology Global Limited ("Finetex Technology"), a mass manufacturer of electrospun nanofibers, has provided nanofiber coated filter media for MAHLE, the Stuttgart based engine components and systems specialist, to produce the new SYMMETRIX® high performance air filter system.

The New MAHLE SYMMETRIX® Air Filter System Uses Finetex Technology’s Nanofiber

SEOUL, South Korea | Posted on August 25th, 2008

The MAHLE SYMMETRIX® filter system focused on achieving the objective of maximum filter performance with minimal installation space. Incorporating the Finetex Technology's nanofiber, MAHLE has obtained the extremely thin filter media with lower pressure loss and higher dust retention capacity compared to conventional filter media. These benefits are due to the special properties of nanofiber such as large surface area to mass, high pore volume, low density and tight pore size.

Finetex Technology has developed nanofiber-applied filter media jointly with MAHLE for last couple of years and SYMMETRIX® is the first commercial filter system implementing the Finetex Technology nanofiber media that launched in the heavy-duty filtration market.

"We're thrilled to have the first nano heavy duty filter media commercially launched in the market through the innovative MAHLE SYMMETRIX® filter system," said Mr. JC Park, CEO of Finetex Technology. "We believe with each successful development and launch there will be a snowball effect from the filtration market place as well as other industries as our nanofiber technology get greater use and acceptance."
