A new petroleum-free, bio-based, 2-cycle engine oil from Green Earth Technologies [Pink Sheets:GETG] has equaled or surpassed the standards for similar petroleum-based oils as set forth by the American Petroleum Institute (API) TC compliance test for all 2-cycle engines other than outboard. Free samples of G-OIL(TM) 2-Cycle Green Engine Oil are now available for the first 1,000 visitors to www.getg.com. The 2.6 oz sample can be used for a 50:1 gasoline to oil mix ratio for no smoke operation of 2-cycle engines used in weed whackers, lawn mowers, tillers, trimmers, chain saws, dirt bikes and more. Green Earth Technologies’ New Petroleum-Free, No Smoke, 2-Cycle Green Engine Oil Now Available

STAMFORD, CT | Posted on February 28th, 2008

A new petroleum-free, bio-based, 2-cycle engine oil from Green Earth Technologies [Pink Sheets:GETG] has equaled or surpassed the standards for similar petroleum-based oils as set forth by the American Petroleum Institute (API) TC compliance test for all 2-cycle engines other than outboard. Free samples of G-OIL™ 2-Cycle Green Engine Oil are now available for the first 1,000 visitors to www.getg.com. The 2.6 oz sample can be used for a 50:1 gasoline to oil mix ratio for no smoke operation of 2-cycle engines used in weed whackers, lawn mowers, tillers, trimmers, chain saws, dirt bikes and more.

The API TC results showed that G-OIL™ 2-Cycle Green Engine Oil meets or exceeds the allowed tolerance compared to petroleum-based reference oil on key performance criteria including piston scuffing and skirt varnish, ring sticking and eliminating spark plug fouling in pre-ignition.

When burned, traditional, petrochemical based 2-cycle engine oils produce 50 times the CO2 of 4-cycle engines. Green Earth's groundbreaking product replaces the traditional petrochemical base of 2-cycle engine oil with base oils derived from renewable American-grown animal fats. The result is an engine oil that does not burn when mixed with gasoline in an engine, eliminating the smoke from oil, and therefore reducing up to 48 percent of the carbon monoxide, 32 percent of the hydrocarbons, and 80 percent nitrous oxide produced by petroleum-based 2-cycle engine oils.

"Months ago, Green Earth Technologies announced that they had the technology to produce a revolutionary, bio-based engine oil that could play with petroleum-based competitors," says Jeff Marshall, CEO and President of Green Earth. "Today, we're delivering on that promise. API compliance proves that this product performs as well as, if not better than, traditional oils, and tests show that dangerous emissions typical of two-cycle engines are cut by a huge degree. We've made this product available free to the first 1,000 visitors to our Web site so they can try green on for size."

Mathew Zuckerman, Ph.D., Chief Technology Officer and Chairman of Green Earth, adds, "Two-cycle engines are a significant source of air pollution, on not just the macro level, but the micro level. Our 2-cycle oil will have an immediate positive effect on the air that American gardeners and recreational engine users are breathing in their backyard while they trim their hedges and mow their lawns. At the same time we eliminate the need for foreign oil, a major factor for consumers who are now, more than ever, concerned about the environmental and geopolitical implications of foreign oil dependency. At Green Earth, we draw our base oil from the same farms, grain fields and barns where 2-cycle oil is used everyday."

Green Earth's commitment to green motor oil doesn't stop with the product itself. Everything related to G-OIL™—including its recyclable packaging, labels, and soy-based inks—is engineered to support environmental responsibility and sustainability.

G-OIL™ 2-Cycle Green Engine Oil comes in easy-to-mix 2.6 oz, 8 oz and 16 oz bottles, with suggested retail of $1.26, $2.49 and $3.99 per bottle.
