Ron Vane, founder and President of the company, said “I am pleased to announce that Barbara Armbruster, formerly TEM product manager for Hitachi High Tech America, has joined us. She has also worked for JEOL and Gatan and is well known in the electron microscopy community. She will promote the third generation of Evactron® de-contaminators that have dual mode UV and plasma cleaning to provide the fastest and most economical way to pristine. These units guarantee fast removal of hydrocarbons and quick pump down time after cleaning is complete.”

XEI Scientific is the world leader in RF plasma decontamination of electron optical equipment and instrumentation for high-end scientific and industrial research and development. Evactron® de-contaminators use energy efficient capacitive couple plasma (CCP) instead of wasteful ICP sources for plasma cleaning. The energy use difference is comparable to a CFL (a CCP) versus an incandescent bulb. Core products include the compact, new EP Evactron® De-Contaminator for turbo plasma cleaning in situ, the Evactron® EPSC Chamber for SEM samples and TEM holders, and the Evactron® CombiClean™ System for chamber and sample cleaning. Turbo plasma cleaning starts immediately at turbo pumped pressures for the fastest way to pristine. Evactron® double-action cleaning combines plasma and UV for quick but thorough cleaning, pump down and return to normal operation.

XEI has now sold more than 2400 Evactron® systems worldwide, solving contamination problems in many different environments using high vacuum including electron microscopes, FIBs and other vacuum sample chambers. Each system comes with a 5 year limited warranty. Please visit the XEI web site for the latest details: www.evactron.com. .

About XEI Scientific Inc.
XEI Scientific Inc. invented the Evactron De-Contaminator in 1999 as the first plasma cleaner to use a downstream cleaning process to remove carbon from electron microscopes. A proprietary plasma source uses air to produce oxygen radicals for oxidation of carbon compounds for removal by the pumps. Carbon-free-vacuum produces the highest quality images and analytical results from SEMs and other vacuum analytical instruments. XEI innovations also include a unique RF plasma generator, a patented RF electrode, and easy start programmed plasma cleaning. All XEI products come with a 5 year limited warranty and are compliant with CE, NRTL, and Semi-S2 safety standards. XEI offers a variety of Evactron® decontamination systems to meet customer needs at >2400 installations around the world.
