Abstract:
NanoStruck Technologies Inc. has a powerful suite of proprietary nano-biotechnology solutions that can transform even the most contaminated waters into pure, safe, and drinkable water for a fraction of expected costs. Nanostruck's proprietary line of technologies is also designed to fight global water shortage problems. These technologies remove molecular sized particles using patented absorptive organic polymers. The company is sitting on some very incredible and environmently friendly technology.
Organic polymers are nature's very own sponges. These versatile biomaterials are derived from crustacean shells or plant fibers, depending on requirements of their usage. Acting as molecular sponges, the nanometer-sized polymers are custom programmed toabsorb specific particles for remediation or retrieval purposes. These could be to clean out acids, hydrocarbons, pathogens, oils and toxins in water via its NanoPure solutions. Or to recover precious metal particles in mine tailings, such as gold, silver, platinum, palladium and rhodium using the Company's NanoMet solutions.
By using patented modifications to conventional technologies and adding polymer-based nano-filtration, the Company's offers environmentally safe NanoPure solutions for water purification. The Company uses Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines as a benchmark for water quality and safety to conform to acceptable agricultural or drinking water standards in jurisdictions where the technology is used. The worldwide shortage of cleanwater is highlighted on sites such as water.org/water-crisis/water-facts/water/.
NANOPURE
After five years of intensive research and testing, NanoStruck Technologies Inc. has developed - and is now introducing - its world leading low cost and environmentally friendly NanoPure technology.
NanoPure brings the most contaminated water into environmental discharge/ drinking water standards.
NanoStruck Technologies Inc. scientific and engineering team has developed a process utilizing technology created at the University of Saskatchewan which can be customized to trap contaminants and make them inert, thus purifying any water source.
How it works:
NanoPure unit is built in a 40 ft container for handling and shipment containing the following process:
Primary precipitations and pH adjustment. (Depending on the source of influent these steps are optional)
NanoStruck micro Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) with high frequency ultrasonic waves. The micro bubbles introduced at the DAF is further accelerated by the ultrasound waves down to the micronic and nano levels, exponentially breaking down organic particles.
A NanoStruck electro-coagulation unit is introduced that further breaks down fats, oil, grease and bio-film that produces algae. It also allows inorganics to float or to coagulate for easy removal by skimming.
NanoStruck multi-media nano-filtration further clarifies the processed water removing impurities and contaminants.
Nano co-polymer removes last stage odour, remaining chemicals and improves clarity. The last stage of treatment goes through the bed of NanoStruck Nano-filtration where most unchanged particles and chemicals are adsorbed. The discharge water can be used for domestic purposes after disinfecting using one of the classical procedures.
Benefits of the process:
Organic/natural nano-tech powders
Environmentally friendly & produces safe potable water
100% recycled water
Low cost
No greenhouse gas emission
No chemicals used in procesS
NanoSan Sanitation System
The Nanosan is a totally green sanitation system built based on nano-technology and designed for rural and informal areas under severe water stress where the basic infrastructure for water/wastewater is not economically feasible.
The key criteria taken into consideration when constructing this unit is; to drastically reduce impact on water usage in households (up to 70%), the health and hygiene of its users, prevention from contamination, destruction of the environment, ground water resources and river systems that are affected due to raw sewage spillages.
The Nanosan unit is user-friendly, easy and cost effective to maintain, easy to transport and install anywhere in the world , and totally "green" with no dependency on outside power sources.
Main Features:
Environmentally friendly (no harmful chemicals, no external power and limited external water usage);
Process the raw sewage into usable grey water with a minimum risk of ground water contamination;
Portable, easy to install, easy to operate and easy to maintain;
Hygienic, safe and odorless;
Fully water borne without connection to municipal water supply or sewer infrastructure.
Rain water collecting ability
Benefits of the product:
Dignified sanitation system
On site raw sewage treatment facility
Safe, reusable and recycled water
No external electricity supply
Economically feasible
Independent of time consuming civil reticulation
NanoMet
Additionally, the Company's technology can be used to recover precious and base metals from mine tailings, which are the residual material from earlier mining activities. By retrieving valuable metals from old tailing dumps, the Company's NanoMet solutions boosts the value of existing mining assets and reduces the need for new, costly and potentially environmentally harmful exploration and mining.
There is an estimated $1 trillion worth of precious metals already extracted from the ground sitting in old mining sites that form our target market. We are in the process of deploying precious metal recovery plants in South Africa, Mexico and Canada.
Almost all groundwater aquifers and dams are being saturated by acid wastewater from mining operations. The industries concern are running out of resources and there has yet to be valuable consideration for removal of the contaminants from its natural storage such as basins, lakes, ponds and underground aquifers.
Currently, NanoStruck Technologies Inc. is designing and building systems to recover Platinum, Gold, Silver, and other precious metals. NanoStruck Technologies Inc. first performs a detailed analysis of both solid and liquid samples to determine the most efficient design using NanoStruck Technologies Inc. proprietary technology and then builds to suit the application for clients.
Our process starts from the pond mine tailings or directly from the tailings tank. Overall expected recovery of precious metals by this process is significantly above current market recovery rates.
NanoStruck Technologies Inc. technology is centered in the use of physio-mechanical capture and removal of toxic pollutants in the wastewater stream and re-use of treated water for irrigation, agriculture, domestic and potable drinking purposes. By-products, such as iron, sulphate, copper, silver, zinc and other precious metals like dissolved gold, platinum and palladium, if collected efficiently could be re-used for industrial purposes.
Benefits of the process:
Removal of toxic pollutants in the wastewater
Treated water able to be re-used in the system
Economically feasible
High recovery rate of precious metals
The company is also developing new plant-based organic polymers to remove contaminants specific to the oil industry, such as naphthenic acids, which is a growing problem.

By using patented modifications to conventional technologies and adding polymer-based nano-filtration, the Company’s offers environmentally safe NanoPure solutions for water purification. By retrieving valuable metals from old tailing dumps, the Company’s NanoMet solutions boosts the value of existing mining assets and reduces the need for new, costly and potentially environmentallyharmful exploration and mining.
The company’s NanoPure technology was first deployed to treat wastewater from a landfill site in January 2012 in Mexico. It has since been successfully treating and producing clean water there that’s certified by Conagua, the federal water commission of Mexico.
The Company’s current business model is based on either selling water remediation plants or leasing out units and charging customers on a price per liter basis with a negotiated minimum payment per annum. For processing mine tailings, the value of precious metal recovered is shared with tailing site owners on a pre-agreed basis.
