CNSE VP of Strategic Communications and Public Relations Jerry Gretzinger to help advance SUNY CNSE's unique innovation, education, and economic development missions.
In support of Governor Andrew Cuomo's high-tech innovation economy, the SUNY College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE) announced that veteran television news broadcaster Jerry Gretzinger will become the newest member of its executive team.
This announcement highlights the NanoCollege's ability to attract top talent to further enable New York's successful nanotechnology-related business, education, and workforce growth strategy and share its resultant narrative with the world.
"We are thrilled to welcome Jerry to CNSE where he will be able to effectively share the NanoCollege's positive growth story on a daily basis," said CNSE Senior Vice President and CEO Dr. Alain E. Kaloyeros. "His knowledge of the communications industry, familiarity with the region, and excitement in playing a greater role in New York State's burgeoning innovation economy under the leadership of Governor Cuomo will make Jerry a wonderful asset to the college as we continue to spread the word about the leading-edge work taking place here."

As the Vice President for Strategic Communications and Public Relations, Gretzinger will oversee CNSE's top-tier communications, media, and marketing efforts to support the statewide growth and international recognition of CNSE, the most advanced innovation enterprise of its kind in the world, with more than $17 billion in investments to-date.
Gretzinger, a two-time Emmy nominee, has been recognized by the New York State Broadcasters Association, the Associated Press, and the CableACE Competition Committee for excellence in writing and videography. Mr. Gretzinger's invaluable ability to communicate a targeted message to a diverse audience will further support CNSE as it continues to sustain its global leadership in areas such as education and workforce development which are opening up numerous opportunities for New York's next generation of nanotechnology-focused scientists and researchers.
Most recently, the 41-year-old Saratoga County resident was employed by WRGB (CBS 6) where Gretzinger began as a weeknight reporter but quickly moved onto the anchor desk to co-anchor the nightly news with Liz Bishop. Prior to his arrival in Albany, Mr. Gretzinger worked in broadcast journalism in Springfield, Massachusetts; Providence, Rhode Island; and Wappingers Falls and Kingston, New York. He was also employed as the public relations manager of Six Flags New England and served as a communications consultant for various small businesses and organizations. He attended Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York, where he earned a B.A. in Communications.
