In it, we have agreed to share our technologies relating to the single-step milling process of nano-scaled titanium dioxide and defined our marketing territories."

SWRD Signs Agreement with Nanomateriales of Monterey, Mexico

Lawton, OK | Posted on November 29th, 2012

In the agreement, SWRD, Inc. will market the product world-wide with the exception of Mexico, Central and South America which will be the exclusive territory of Nanomateriales.

"There is movement away from chemical sunscreens in the cosmetic and healthcare markets," says Joel Gutierrez, Director General of Nanomateriales. "Titanium dioxide is a natural sunscreen with excellent UV/A and UV/B attenuation characteristics. We foresee the market for nano-scaled titanium dioxide growing along with consumer demand for natural products.

Studies have shown out that while some chemical sunscreens are carcinogenic, others may become flammable in aerosol form. Chemical sunscreens also have been linked to the bleaching of coral reefs.

"We recognize the fact our product is unique and has a wide range of applications. Human healthcare products represent only a fraction of the overall market," says Herring. "This being said, we are looking forward to developing a very strong working relationship with Nanomateriales."
