Home > Press > Iranian Health Ministry Sets Compulsory Certificates for Nano-Based Food, Health Products
Abstract:
Iran's health ministry required all the companies which produce nano-based food and health care products to be certified by a nanotechnology committee affiliated to the Iranian food and drug organization.
Any uncertified activities including production, import, sale, distribution and advertisement of nano-based products pertaining to pharmacy, medical equipment, beauty and healthcare, food and beverages, dietary supplements, etc. are considered illegal and the trespasser companies are liable to prosecution.
Up to now, twelve nano-based products have received the mentioned certification from the committee on nanotechnology of the Iranian food and drug organization. The nanoliposomal anti-tumor doxorubicin and the antibacterial polyamide string are of their examples.
The committee on nanotechnology of the Iranian food and drug organization has been established with the primary objective of regulating food and health care related products in Iran.
