Abstract:
Hitachi High-Technologies is delighted to announce that the cumulative sales volume of its TM series of Tabletop microscopes has exceeded 2,000 units. The TM-1000, the first model in the series, sold more than 1,000 units during a 5 year period from its launch in 2005. The TM3000, the latest model in the series, has achieved similar levels of sales in just 2.5 years since shipments began in 2010.

Hitachi Tabletop Microscope Sales Exceed 2000 Units

Royston, UK | Posted on August 13th, 2012

The TM series was developed by Hitachi High-Technologies with a view to "making cutting-edge microscopes even easier to use and accessible to more people." It has revolutionised the world of microscopy by combining the depth of field, resolution and magnification capabilities of an electron microscope with the user-friendliness of an optical microscope. The TM3000 is a compact benchtop unit that is controlled through a simple-to-use laptop user interface and can achieve a magnification of up to 30,000 times with no special sample preparation needed.

The TM series has been used worldwide in many different sectors, from private-sector enterprises, universities, government offices and hospitals, to educational institutions such as science museums and elementary and junior high schools. These microscopes are used in a wide range of applications, from development, evaluation and quality assurance of food, pharmaceuticals, materials, electronic devices etc, to scientific experimentation and observation in schools, universities or medical institutions.
