Abstract:
This year`s winners of the OE-A awards were honored during the LOPE-C Gala Dinner in Munich. Eight19 and Imprint Energy were recognized for the best business and technology concept. Four additional awards were presented  as part of the OE-A Demonstrator Competition.
The OE-A, the leading global association for the organic and printed electronics industry, announced the winners of its annual awards during LOPE-C 2012 (4th Large-Area, Organic & Printed Electronics Convention) in Munich last month.
LOPE-C Investor Forum Awards 2012
The OE-A supports young companies and start-ups in finding investors by organizing
an Investor Forum as part of the LOPE-C Business Conference. "We are pleased with
the excellent presentations held by start-ups in the Investor Forum. This year, the
majority of presentations were by device manufacturers providing system solutions for
end-users", says Dr. Davor Sutija, CEO Thin Film Electronics ASA and LOPE-C
Business Conference chair.
This year's winners of the LOPE-C Investor Forum Awards are:
    LOPE-C Investor Forum Award 2012 "Most Impactful Technology / Product"
    Imprint Energy, Inc., USA, Brooks Kincaid
    LOPE-C Investor Forum Award 2012: "Best Business Case"
    Eight19 Ltd., UK, Kieran Reynolds 
OE-A-Demonstrator Awards 2012
Innovative concepts illustrating the capabilities of organic and printed electronics are
recognized with the demonstrator awards. This year's awards were presented in four
categories:
    OE-A-Demonstrator Award 2012: Best University Demonstrator:
    "Digital White Board", Hochschule der Medien, Stuttgart, Germany 
    OE-A-Demonstrator Award 2012: Best Freestyle Demonstrator:
    "Inkjet Printed Graphene Biosensor", Merck Ltd., Nakatsu, Japan 
    OE-A-Demonstrator Award 2012: Best Publicly Funded Project Demonstrator:
    "Pedestrian Protection Sensing System", 3PLAST, EU-Project 
    OE-A-Demonstrator Award 2012: Best Design:
    "Electroactive Polymer Applications", University College West-Flanders, Belgium 
"The demonstrators show the wide range of applications from automotive, consumer
electronics and smart packaging to medical and pharmaceutical applications", says
Dr. Stephan Kirchmeyer, Chairman of the OE-A and Head of the Business Unit
Functional Coatings at Heraeus Precious Metals GmbH & Co. KG. The OE-A will start
a new Demonstrator competition in September 2012, and the best demonstrators will
be awarded during LOPE-C 2013, June 11-13, Messe Munich, Germany.
