Abstract:
The Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council plans to double financial support for post-graduate dissertations and theses in order to fulfill development needs, improve industrial products and knowledge-based companies based on nanotechnology.
According to the new regulations of financial supports for research activities, every thesis at MSc level receives $2,400 while every thesis at PhD level receives $7,200. This program is implemented in order to encourage the knowledge-based companies to define research projects to develop their technology, to persuade the researchers to meet the research needs of industries, to strengthen the connection between industry and university, to guide researches towards applied activities, and to create new jobs.
The financial support will be paid after obtaining the applied results and the conversion of technical knowledge to knowledge-based company or the related industry, or the establishment of a company in regard to the need of the industry, and after being approved by Technological Services to Market Institute of Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council.
The first part of the financial support for the theses will be paid after the approval of the proposal in the faculty and sending it to Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council and being judged and approved by Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council. The second part will be paid after the thesis is presented in the faculty, is sent to Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council, and is judged and approved by INIC.
Moreover, amounts of up to $7,000 and $20,000 for MSc and PhD theses respectively, will be paid by Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council as research budget to the related educational group, so it can be invested in order to purchase equipment made in the country or to recruit students at post-doctorate level.
