Abstract:
Senior Iranian legislators who visited the 4th Nanotechnology Festival and Exhibition in Tehran hailed Iran's advancement and progress in nanotechnology.
Nourollah Heydari Dastnayee and Seyed Hossein Zolanwar expressed pleasure in the advancement of Iran in nanotechnology, and emphasized the necessity for increasing the budget designated for nanotechnology.
Noting the growing trend of the achievements displayed in Iran Nano 2011 Exhibition, Heydari Dastnayee, a member of the Education and Research Commission of the Iranian parliament, said, "We see an evolutionary trend of production of manufacturing devices and products. I also feel that there's a good enhancement in exchanging science and technology within international relations."
The lawmaker said that the aim of attending the 4th Nanotechnology Festival and Exhibition was to know the problems which manufacturers and technologists confront in the field of nanotechnology and to propose strategies for supporting this technology.
"Considering the advancements in nanotechnology, a specialized committee of the parliament observes them to detect the areas that those could find applications."
Zolanwar, a member of the parliament's Energy Commission also expressed hope that more budgets will be designated to nanotechnology in the next year.
Dr. Kamal Kharazi, the head of the international relations strategic council, also spoke about the differences between the current and last festival, and said, "Considering our latest visit to the festival, the achievements presented in the current festival are promisingly far more practical and specialized. I will put my efforts into introducing our domestic researchers' achievements to other countries through interaction with the foreign countries."
