Iranian Students Pass 2nd Stage of Nanotechnology Olympiad

Tehran, Iran | Posted on September 15th, 2011

After the practical camp that was held from September 2 to 10, 2011, the final examination of the Second Nanotechnology Olympiad for Students was held on September 11 in form of 17 multiple-choice questions and the oral presentation of the selected projects.

In addition to participating in educational courses for the synthesis of nanomaterials, visiting the laboratories and equipment used in nanotechnology, and sitting in the second stage of the examination, the students who were qualified in the first stage of the Olympiad examination presented their projects on simulation in nanotechnology on the final day of the Olympiad.

According to Nanotechnology Student Club (Nano Club), the final winners in the Second Nanotechnology Olympiad for Students will be shortlisted according to the points they acquire in the following aspects:

o Sum total of the points obtained in the first and second stages of the Olympiad examination
o Laboratory work
o Presentation of a project on simulation in nanotechnology

The final winners of the Second Nanotechnology Olympiad for Students will be announced in the Fourth International Nanotechnology Festival (Iran Nano 2011).

Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council holds Nanotechnology Olympiad since 2010 and through Nano Club, in order to familiarize students with nanosciences and nanotechnology and to persuade them to continue their studies in the majors related to nanotechnology. The first Olympiad was held last year and three of the contestants were finally shortlisted in the Third Nanotechnology Festival as the final winners.
