Home > Press > Healthcare Futurist Jack Uldrich to Keynote Two Upcoming Events on “The Future’s Steep Unlearning Curve”
Abstract:
Acclaimed healthcare futurist and best-selling author, Jack Uldrich has been selected to deliver two keynote presentations on the topic of "unlearning" to the healthcare industry. Uldrich will also discuss major healthcare trends, including advances in information technology, biotechnology, nanotechnology, RFID, genomics and robotics and more, in his talk.
Popular keynote speaker, healthcare futurist, and best-selling author, Jack Uldrich has been selected to deliver keynote presentations to the Iowa Healthcare Collaborative in Des Moines, Iowa on August 31, 2011 and the Healthcare Trustees of New York State in Lake George, NY on September 17, 2011. The title of his two presentations is "Why Future Trends in Healthcare Will Require Unlearning."
The talk, based on Uldrich's two new books: "Higher Unlearning: 39 Post Requisite Lessons for Achieving a Successful Future" and "Unlearning 101: 50 Lessons in Thinking Inside-Out the Box," will begin by discussing how continued advances in information technologies, biotechnology, nanotechnology, robotics, radio frequency identification (RFID) technology, genomics, regenerative medicine and social networking will radically transform healthcare in the decade ahead.
Uldrich will then discuss why these trends will demand unlearning as well as discuss the consequences of not embracing the concept of unlearning. Uldrich, who has been hailed as "America's Chief Unlearning Officer," will conclude by reviewing specific habits, customs, beliefs and ideas that healthcare professionals can—and must—unlearn. Throughout his talk, he will use vivid analogies and memorable stories, drawn from a wide spectrum of industries, to ensure his message of unlearning "sticks" with his audience.
In the past year, Uldrich has addressed dozens of healthcare associations and hospitals, including the Alcetel-Lucent/Verizon Forum on Wireless Healthcare, Allina Hospitals, Care Providers of Minnesota, St. Jude Medical, Fairview Hospitals, University Hospitals & Health System and the healthcare associations of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Colorado, Tennessee and Kansas. He has also addressed a number of major, non-health-care-related corporations on the topic of unlearning including Cisco, IBM, WiPro and General Electric.
