Singapore’s Prime Minister presents Nanostart holding BioMers to the nation

Frankfurt / Singapore | Posted on August 16th, 2011

In his National Day Rally speech this weekend, Lee Hsien Loong, Prime Minister of Singapore, expressly mentioned Nanostart (OTCQX: NASRY), holding BioMers as an example of a successful start-up company set up by students of the National University of Singapore (NUS).
"The success story of the local start-up behind the world's first translucent dental braces shows why it is important to have a good mix of local and foreign students in universities here", said the premier.

During his speech, he showed a picture of the team with dental models on the screen. Referring to the braces, he said: "You can't see it on the teeth, because it is meant to be invisible. So you can look beautiful or handsome even while they are straightening your teeth."

BioMers has already obtained approval for its products in the USA, the European Union and various countries in Asia, and is in the process of marketing its products internationally. The Nanostart Singapore Early Stage Venture Fund, which Nanostart holds in conjunction with the government of Singapore, has a 24.7 percent stake in BioMers.

The National Day Rally is an annual speech that Singapore's Prime Minister delivers to the entire nation on the second Sunday after August 9, National Day, addressing key challenges and future developments.

The speech was made on August 14 at the University Cultural Centre in Singapore and broadcast live on television and radio. In the section of his speech in which he mentioned BioMers, the Prime Minister was talking about Singaporean and foreign students at the country's universities.
