Abstract:
World experts in developing nano science and technology will share their experiences in the second International Conference on Nanotechnology-Research and Commercialisation (ICONT 2011) which will be held here, next week.
The event from June 7 to 9 at the Grand Borneo Hotel here, is organised by Sirim Bhd and supported by Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry (Mosti), according to the statement from Sirim Bhd.
ICONT 2011 acts as a platform to gather local and international scientists and researchers, and aims to develop critical assessment of existing work and future directions in nanotechnology research.
There are 15 invited speakers from 10 countries who will be presenting their latest development in these fields, including Prof Guozhong Cao of University of Washington, US, Prof Saeed Sarkar of Tehran University of Medical Sciences (Iran), and Prof Valentinas Snitka of Kaunas University of Technology Lithuania.
Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Johnity Ongkili is expected to open the ceremony on the first day.
During the opening event, an exchange of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Sirim and several international and local higher learning institutions will also be held.
