Home > Press > Phono Solar unveils 632kW solar project at San Bernardino International Airport: Globally recognized Phono Solar modules power the California-based project
Abstract:
Phono Solar, one of the world's largest solar companies specialized in the complete design and production of high quality mono crystalline and poly crystalline silicon solar modules, has completed a 632 kilowatt (kW) solar project at the San Bernardino International Airport in California.
The newly completed installation employs 2,688 panels constructed from Phono Solar's 240W Mono Series and will offset energy costs and utility bills at the airport terminal. The $2.8 million project includes a new parking structure and took eight months to complete.
In the first month of operation, the installation generated 52,000 kWh, equaling 4,065 gallons of gas, 35 tons of CO2 or 901 trees.
Project developer Premier Solar of Redlands, CA won the contract as the successful low bidder on the electrical portion. The company chose Phono Solar based on their superior high performance panels which could potentially generate kWh that exceed the San Bernardino International Airport demand. Blymyer Engineers, Inc. of Alameda, CA and architectural group Jacobs of Oakland, CA further approved the high-efficiency modules that are internationally renowned for their superior price/quality ratio and impressive warranty programs.
"The completion of this project at the San Bernardino International Airport marks our commitment to constructing quality commercial projects in key regions of the country," said Chris Kamykowski, President of Phono Solar USA. "We are honored to be selected for our high performance modules and Phono Solar will continue to add additional commercial installations on U.S. soil as the year progresses."

Phono Solar forecasts an impressive 50MW of U.S. projects in 2011. With several strategic agreements in the works, the company is prioritizing the U.S. and plans to expand operations in this key market over the next few years.
As the Phono Solar master distributor in North America, CED GreenTech of Riverside CA procured the high quality modules for the San Bernardino International Airport installation and will continue to distribute Phono Solar modules throughout the US and Canada.
