Home > Press > Kelly Engineering Resources® Offers Future Engineers Scholarship to Engineering Students
Abstract:
As the cost of a college education continues to rise across the country, many talented engineering students search for scholarship assistance. To help such students with their college costs, Kelly Engineering Resources, a specialty service of Kelly Services, Inc. (NASDAQ: KELYA) (NASDAQ: KELYB), is offering its ninth annual Future Engineers Scholarship.
All sophomore- and junior-level college engineering students who meet the program criteria are invited to compete for the $5,000 scholarship by submitting an essay on a designated, contemporary engineering topic. The winning essay must demonstrate a depth of knowledge about a specific engineering issue or challenge.
Since 2004, the scholarship award has been presented to one engineering student each year in recognition of his or her outstanding academic performance. To date, Kelly Engineering Resources has provided more than $40,000 in scholarship funds to college students.
In January 2012, the student with the winning essay will be presented a $5,000 scholarship check to be used toward eligible expenses of tuition, fees, books, and room and board during the 2012 calendar year.
Submission materials and guidelines, as well as this year's essay question, are available at the following link: Future Engineers Scholarship Program. The deadline for submissions is October 14, 2011.
The Future Engineers Scholarship program was developed to encourage student interest in a career in engineering, to foster excellence in the engineering field, and to help alleviate a critical current and future shortage of highly qualified engineers.
Judges of the 2012 Future Engineers Scholarship program will be from The Engineering Society of Detroit; The Dow Chemical Company; Baxter Healthcare; Pfizer; National Academy Foundation; Nissan; Power Engineering Magazine; and the Engineering News Record
