Abstract:
Picosun Oy, Finland-based global manufacturer of state-of-the-art Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) systems was the only nanotech company presenting itself to a wide variety of Chinese companies, investors and public authorities in the field of clean technologies, at the Cleantech Finland Smart Days Seminar at Shanghai World Expo on Friday.
The seminar, opened by Dr. Paavo Väyrynen, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development in Finland together with Mr. Wang Jingzhen, Vice Chairman of China Council for Promotion of International Trade and Mr. Lu Lirui, Vice President of Shanghai Technology Transfer & Exhange, was held at the Finnish World Expo pavilion "Kirnu" (in English: "Churn").
Cooperation in the field of clean technologies is a key area between Finland and China and continues to grow. Themes for the seminar extended from the concept of smart cities to solutions for smart energy and smart water.
Picosun's Application Director, Dr. Wei-Min Li held the first Finnish keynote address of the seminar explaining the vast opportunities offered through the use of ALD (Atomic Layer Deposition) technology. He also participated in a separate panel discussion exploring the different aspects of cleantech solutions. During the day Dr. Wei-Min Li also took part in a round table with Chinese mainstream media.
"Co-operation for sustainable development technologies and solutions is important for both Finland and China. China is expected to grow to become the largest cleantech market within the next five years," says Ari Makkonen, Senior Vice President, Finnish Environmental Cluster for China.
"Picosun is very strong at the Chinese ALD market. ALD technology as such can and will offer a variety of novel possibilities for industries interested in developing their products to meet the environmental challenges of tomorrow's world. Leading the current trend in ALD, Picosun is fast moving into the field of production-worthy ALD systems," explains Dr. Wei-Min Li.
