Candidate Q&A: Mary Price "Pricey" Harrison, N.C. House 57
Abstract:
By many measures, the Greensboro-High Point metro area has experienced devastating economic setbacks over the past decade, especially in terms of jobs, wages and family incomes. How can state government help turn this around?
We should continue to make needed investments in higher education such as the UNCG/A&T joint nanotechnology program which will likely result in the development of local spinoff companies. Continuing to invest in our community college system is critical to creating a favorable business climate. Continuing to modernize our state's energy policies (per question 19) should also increase green jobs, especially with energy efficient retrofits, which creates good jobs that cannot be outsourced, many of which are located in Guilford County.
