Candidate Q&A: Don Vaughan, N.C. Senate District 27
Abstract:
By many measures, the Greensboro-High Point metro area has experienced devastating economic setbacks over the past decade, especially in terms of jobs, wages and family incomes. How can state government help turn this around?
We have been devastated by a variety of issues, many, outside of our control, such as the loss of our major industries and the collapse of the financial sector. I will continue to focus on jobs and the economy and protecting small businesses. I will continue to support job creation with tax credits and helping viable businesses find the capital needed to succeed.
I will also make sure that we have the resources to train or retrain our future workforce. I will continue to support GTCC and we will find ways to maintain the success of the UNCG-A&T Joint School of Nanoscience & Nanotechnology.
