Shasun ties up with US firm to develop cancer drug
Abstract:
Shasun Pharmaceuticals has entered into a joint venture with US-based Nanoparticle Biochem (NBI). Shasun NBI Llc, the 50:50 JV, will develop NBI's lead molecule, NBI-29, for prostate cancer and seek USFDA approval.
University of Missouri, Columbia, which is one of the six labs in the US that are part of the ‘Alliance for nanotechnology in cancer', has five per cent stake in NBI. Founders of NBI, Dr Kattesh Katti and Dr Raghuraman Kannan would be driving the development of NBI-29 through the JV, according to a statement.
