Brown University makes engineering a school
Abstract:
Brown University has elevated its engineering division into a full-fledged School of Engineering, signaling its intent to build greater strength in a field that has become vital to research in nanoscience, bioengineering and other emerging areas.
Brown President Ruth J. Simmons said, "Today's monumental scientific and societal challenges depend greatly upon engineering know-how for advances in biology, medicine, clean energy and nanotechnology."
