Entrepreneurs with plan to make nanomaterial win Panasci prize
Abstract:
Four local entrepreneurs with a plan to custom-manufacture a new nanomaterial called graphene are this year's winners of the annual Panasci competition.
Robert Anstey of Williamsville and M. Ali Zeeshan, Robert Dennis III and Vincent Lee of Buffalo were awarded more than $10,000 in seed money and professional business services in the University at Buffalo's Henry A. Panasci Jr. Technology Entrepreneurship Competition.
The group's proposed business, Graphene Devices Ltd., would custom-make the material for the aerospace, aeronautic and automotive industries, some of which have already shown interest. The group is also in contract negotiations to receive $500,000 in funding from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority.
