The Centers are integral part of the IIT and are located within the premises of Italian academic institutions, following the intention of collaborating, through its research personnel and instrumentation, with the Italian research system.

The IIT Centers and hosting institutions are:

Center for Advanced Biomaterials for Health Care at the Università Federico II, Napoli
Center for Nanoscience and Technology at the Politecnico di Milano
Center for Space Human Robotics at the Politecnico di Torino
Center for Micro- BioRobotics at the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna di Pisa
Center for Neuroscience and Cognitive Systems at the Università di Trento
Center for Nanotechnology Innovation at the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa
ISI GenOmnics - Center of Genomic Science at the IFOM-IEO-SEMM, Milano
Center for Bio-molecular Nanotechnologies at the Università del Salento

About Italian Institute of Technology
The Italian Institute of Technology - IIT - was created with the objective of promoting Italy's technological development and higher education in science and technology.

IIT is making an effort to implement its scientific programme in this context, with the specific goal of integration between basic scientific research and the development of technical applications.

The research is carried out in highly innovative scientific fields, which represent the most advanced frontiers in modern technology; their contents are widely applicable in multiple areas, from medicine to industry, from computer science to robotics, to life sciences and nanobiotechnology.

IIT is a private law Foundation, created with special Government Law no. 269 of September 30th 2003, which was later converted into Law n. 326 of November 2003.
