Home > Press > TechConnect Innovation Showcase Brings Success of ARPA-E Energy Innovation Showcase to West Coast
Abstract:
The Clean Technology and Sustainable Industries Organization (CTSI) and partnering organization Nano Science & Technology Institute will host a technology innovation showcase in conjunction with the Clean Technology 2010 Conference and Expo in Anaheim, California on June 23, 2010. Organizers expect over 120 companies to participate, discuss and demonstrate breakthrough technology with development and investment partners.
Similar to the Technology Showcase held at the Advanced Research Projects Agency - Energy (ARPA-E) Energy Innovation Summit this past March, the TechConnect Innovation Showcase will feature leading technologies under development in the energy and water sectors. In addition, the showcase will include emerging technologies in the areas of nanotechnology, MEMS, and microtechnology.
The ARPA-E Energy Innovation Summit, which filled to a maximum capacity of 1,500 participants during the inaugural March 1-3, 2010 event, demonstrated a clear need for early-stage technology development relationships. With over 5,000 attendees from over 70 countries expected at the Clean Technology 2010 Conference and Expo, there are significant opportunities for showcasing start-ups, corporations, and national labs to create new R&D and investment partnerships.
"After such an overwhelming response of support following the ARPA-E Showcase, we feel a west coast version of the showcase will enable more companies to participate and allow for continued, deeper discussions of the technology," said Matthew Laudon, CTSI president and founding chairman.
The TechConnect Innovation Showcase is open to all organizations interested in displaying leading clean tech and other emerging technologies, subject to approval by the conference technology advisory committee. The event will emphasize technology innovation that is not yet commercially available. As with the D.C.-based event, ARPA-E award winners and finalists will automatically receive space, pending availability. The showcase will run the evening of Wednesday, June 23 and the morning of June 24, 2010.
