‘Colleges playing critical role'
Abstract:
University of Massachusetts President Jack M. Wilson said that the state's public colleges and universities are playing a critical role in turning around the Bay State's flagging economy and fueling development, but he warned that the effort cannot be sustained without suitable financial support from the state.
For example, he said Massachusetts is a global leader in nanotechnology because of the research centers at the Amherst and Lowell campuses of the University of Massachusetts.
