Air pollution studies to be discussed
Abstract:
Researchers from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Wednesday will discuss studies on air pollution and its effect on the brain.
The seminar will begin at noon in the Oak conference room at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton. It will be held for healthcare professionals and community leaders.
Speakers will be Dr. Keith Black and Dr. Julia Ljubimova. Black is chairman and professor of the neurosurgery department and director of the Maxine Dunitz Neurosurgical Institute at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Ljubimova is a research scientist and principal investigator of the drug delivery and nanotechnology program of the neurosurgery department at the neurosurgical institute.
They will discuss the effects of short and chronic air pollution exposure on the brain and development of brain diseases and tumors.
