Abstract:
How are areas like nanotechnology and metamaterials going to affect military technology?
Both of those areas are going to have major effects on military capabilities because of the impact of advanced materials on all kinds of military applications. Nanoscale sensing, communications, computation and all of that is going to affect military capabilities over time. Nanotechnologies are being developed in the civil sector and the military is getting some of the high profile applications of these, but they're not inventing much in the way of nano-applications. Most of the work is being done elsewhere and the military is trying to benefit from it.
