Home > Press > Nansulate® Energy Saving Coatings to be Showcased at the 2009 Renewable Energy Fair in Alaska: Members of U.S. Senate Committee on Energy & Natural Resources to Attend
Abstract:
Industrial Nanotech, Inc. (Pink Sheets:INTK), an emerging global leader in nanoscience solutions, today announced that the Company's patented Nansulate® energy saving thermal insulation and asset protection coatings will be showcased at the upcoming Renewable Energy Fair, on August 22, 2009 at Chena Hot Springs Resort, Alaska.
The company's Alaskan distributor, Nanotech Energy Solutions, Inc., will be demonstrating the effectiveness and energy saving solutions provided by Nansulate® coatings at the show. Two sections of pipe coated with Nansulate® High Heat thermal insulation coating and Nansulate® EPX 2-part epoxy insulation system will be used to demonstrate the ability of nanotechnology to insulate effectively in a thin layer while also protecting assets from corrosion. They have also been asked to give a 45 minute presentation about the technology.
The Renewable Energy Fair is headed by Bernie Karl, owner of Chena Hot Springs Report, and a well-known leader in geothermal technology. Karl has pioneered technology to generate electricity from hot water and, most recently, has created a mobile geothermal power plant which will be featured at the fair.
"Nansulate® has proven itself to be a key energy saving solution in many different applications around the world," explained Steve Mroz, President of Nanotech Energy Solutions "The coatings can make a huge impact in energy conservation in Alaska and have unlimited uses in oil and gas, geothermal energy, and sustainable building, among many other markets. We are excited about the discussions we've had with Chena Resort Owner, Bernie Karl, and are looking forward to presenting what we feel is the next generation of insulation and energy saving technology. For the main demonstration, we have applied Nansulate High Heat on a 10 ft portion of pipe from a geothermal well with a surface temp of 175 degrees. The goal of the application is to demonstrate how effectively the product can reduce natural heat loss without the need of conventional insulation and at the same time prevent corrosion. The hotter the water is when it reaches the geothermal generators, the less work they need to do, therefore increasing the energy efficiency of the system. The goal is to put the water back in the ground at the highest possible temperature and that is enhanced by using Nansulate to insulate the system. The other 10 ft section of pipe we have coated with Nansulate EPX to show the benefits of the product's use on pipes and pipelines to the oil company executives who will be in attendance."
The goal of the Renewable Energy Fair is to demonstrate creative sustainability concepts and alternative energy solutions that specifically address environmental challenges which Alaskans face every year. Also in attendance at the fair will be the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy & Natural Resources, who will be holding a field hearing in the main event tent from 10 am to noon.
