Over 3000 people from 33 countries will take part in the Forum lasting until December 5th. Among them - scientists, businessmen and representatives of state authorities.
The Nanotechnology International Forum - one of the first steps towards creating in Russia a global platform for communications, where representatives of science and business will be able to discuss the practical themes of nanotechnology development. These are the leading directions for turning the Russian economy to the innovative way of further growth.
The business part of the Forum covers a wide range of topics: from international experience on forming the national innovative system to measures which should be taken to stimulate the development of financial, production and technical, information and educational infrastructure, support of the fundamental science, improvement in legislative basis.
Special attention is paid to perspectives of using nanotechnologies in different fields of economy: from electronics, medicine and biotechnology to machinery, oil and gas, chemical industry, regional development programs.
The scientific and technical program of the Forum spans 29 sections where 263 talks and posters will be given. The sections cover 18 main directions for development of nanotechnologies and nanomaterials creation.
Over 300 of nanoscience projects submitted by young Russian scientists are shown on the Forum. Authors of the best 50 works will receive the prize for young researchers which is planned to be granted annually.
During the Forum the Expocenter holds an exhibition where the cutting-edge nanotech developments are on display. The exhibition hosts 80 projects of firms and organizations from Russia, Austria, Germany, Latvia, the USA, Finland.

About Russian Corporation of Nanotechnologies
The Russian Corporation of Nanotechnologies (RUSNANO) was founded under Federal Law No.139-FZ dated July 19, 2007 for «implementation of the government policy in the sphere of nanotechnologies, innovation infrastructure development in the sphere of nanotechnologies, implementation of projects on creating perspective nanotechnologies and nanoindustry». The Corporation resolves this objective acting as a co-investor in nanotechnological projects with a significant economic or social impact. The Corporation’s financial involvement at early stages of projects reduces risks of its partners – private investors. The Corporation participates in establishment of the nanotechnological infrastructure, such as centers for collective use, business-incubators and early-stage investment funds. RUSNANO chooses the first-priority directions in investment based on long-term development forecasts (foresights) developed by the leading Russian and world experts. In 2007 the Government of the Russian Federation allocated 130 billion rubles for the Corporation’s activity. The management bodies are the Supervisory Council, Board of Directors and Director General. RUSNANO Director General is Anatoly Chubais.
Russian Business Consulting (RBC) is the general information partner of the first Nanotechnology International Forum.
