Abstract:
Leading microfluidics and nanotechnology specialist mPhase Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: XDSL) today announced its Smart NanoBattery has recently been featured in the Technology Advances section of the September 2008 Materials Research Society (MRS) Bulletin. The article highlighted the continued growth and importance of batteries, and the advantages of the mPhase Smart NanoBattery technology. Based on research cited, the world demand for primary and secondary batteries will increase approximately 6.5% annually from $55.5 billion in 2006 to $104.3 billion in 2016 based mainly on demand for battery-powered consumer products such as cell phones and digital cameras.

Fabricated using silicon processing techniques and enabled with nano and micro scale features creating microfludic channels, the Smart NanoBattery is designed to keep the battery in a state with no self-discharge, power drain, or leakage prior to activation, which is unlike traditional consumer batteries. Activation can be selectively controlled when necessary, thus providing Power On Command™ stored energy when and where it is needed to the device it is powering.

"We are excited that our work in microfluidics and nanotechnology has led to recognition by a well respected scientific association like the Materials Research Society," said Ronald A. Durando, CEO of mPhase Technologies, Inc.

Over the next few weeks mPhase Technologies looks forward to updating the investor community about recent strides made concerning commercial developments.
