Obducat receives mass production order worth 22,5 MSEK

Malmo, Sweden | Posted on August 21st, 2008

The purchase order concerns one Sindre® 60 system to be delivered during September 2008 and one Sindre® 400 system by end of Q1, 2009. The fully automated Sindre® 400 will have production capacity of 30 wafers per hour for any wafer size between 2" and 4".

Luxtaltek Corporation, a Taiwan based world class provider of high brightness LED wafers, Photonic Crystal LED chips and LED modules, was founded by two leading LED companies in Taiwan: Taiwan Oasis Technology Corporation and Uni-light Touchtek Corporation. With well-developed state of the art production techniques, Luxtaltek will deliver the most reliable, high efficiency GaN LED wafers and chips to the market in Q4, 2008.

"Obducat has proven to have a superior imprint performance in comparison to other competitors. Based on imprint performance and cost efficiency by IPS® and STU® technologies, we select Obducat as our preferred supplier for LED applications. In addition, we are very pleased to get the commitment from Obducat to fully support the Luxtaltek production expansion plan for the next two years, which involves another five Sindre® 400 systems and several Sindre® 60 systems", says Dr. Sean Lin, President of Luxtaltek.

"With this order in place Obducat has taken the definite lead worldwide as the preferred supplier of mass production solutions based on NIL. We are very pleased to conclude the agreement with Luxtaltek. With their strong IP-portfolio within optoelectronics and their aggressive market approach we expect to see a quick growth of Luxtaltek and consequently we foresee additional orders regarding mass production equipment. This is a highly interesting market with a potential for NIL equipment in the range of 100 MEUR over the next five years, and we are very well positioned to capture a significant part of this", says Patrik Lundström, CEO of Obducat AB.

Obducat is required under the Securities Markets Act to make public the information in this press release. The information was submitted for publication at 08.20 am CET on 21 of August 2008.
