CAP-XX Honored by Frost & Sullivan With 2008 Asia Pacific Industrial Technologies Award for Technology Innovation of the Year

Sydney, Australia | Posted on August 21st, 2008

The Frost & Sullivan Awards, presented on August 15, 2008 in Singapore, recognize a company's research which has brought significant contributions to the industry in terms of adoption, change, and competitive posture. It also recognizes the quality and depth of a company's research and development program, as well as its vision and risk-taking. "We are honored Frost & Sullivan has recognized our research in developing thin, powerful supercapacitors for increasingly smaller portable electronics devices," said CAP-XX CEO Anthony Kongats. This is the second time Frost & Sullivan has honored CAP-XX with its Technology Innovation of the Year Award. CAP-XX has also received awards from Electronic Design, EDN, Design News, the European Electronics Industry and the World Economic Forum.

Supercapacitors combine the energy-storage capability of batteries with the rapid charge and discharge times of conventional capacitors. They handle the large instantaneous power demands inherent in flash photos, playing audio and video, and wireless transmissions, enabling new functionality and extending battery life.

Utilizing breakthrough nanotechnology processes, CAP-XX supercapacitors are the smallest and thinnest available today for any given ESR and capacitance. They pack high energy and power densities into thin prismatic packages suitable for use in slim, portable electronic devices such as camera phones, PDAs, digital cameras and multimedia players.
