Abstract:
One of the country's leading nanotechnologists has agreed to join the University of Texas at San Antonio faculty as chairman of the Department of Physics and Astronomy.
Miguel Jose Yacaman, who spent the last seven years at the University of Texas at Austin, will help UTSA achieve its goal of becoming a Top 100 premier research university, says UTSA Provost John Frederick.
Yacaman is the author of four patents. His work has generated more than $8.1 million in grant funding for nanotechnology research. He also has been cited in research publications more than 3,500 times and has more than 330 review papers or book chapters written in the scientific literature.
