Rice researcher named Leopold fellow
Abstract:
A Rice University professor specializing in renewable fuels research has been awarded a prestigious Leopold Leadership Fellowship for 2008.
Pedro Alvarez, Rice's George R. Brown professor and chairman of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, has focused his research on the environmental impact of production, storage and use of nanomaterials and renewable fuels.
Alvarez is among 19 researchers from across North America to receive the fellowships. The program is based at Stanford University's Woods Institute for the Environment.
